World Sight Day 2025: Our Impact Across Nigeria
NOSA chapters across Nigeria organized free eye screening exercises in honour of World Sight Day. Here is a recap.
On October 10th, 2025, NOSA chapters from over 18 universities organized free community eye screening exercises in commemoration of World Sight Day.
More than 5,000 Nigerians received free eye examinations, and over 800 were referred for further management. Reading glasses were distributed to hundreds of elderly patients with presbyopia.
Chapter Highlights
The University of Benin chapter screened 420 community members, while LAUTECH and ABU Zaria each exceeded 300 patients. The event demonstrated the commitment of Nigerian optometry students to public eye health advocacy.
